The article talks about the squad who raided and killed Osama bin Laden. It goes into detail about how they trained for years to execute this mission perfectly and without flaw. This invasion was not only a historic moment for Americans, but also a risky and honorable feet that the NAVY SEALs preformed. After they found out that Osama bin Laden was finally taken out, many Americans decided to celebrate his death. The article states, "Whether that matters to most Americans, gratified if not joyful that bin Laden is dead, is an open question." Do you think people were right to celebrate bin Laden's death as excessively as they did? Why or why not?

I think that they were right to a certain extent. To celebrate because he is no longer a threat is right, but to celebrate the death of anyone, despite the evil they have done is morally wrong. I understand that he killed many Americans when he ordered terrorists to crash the planes into the Twin Towers, but stooping to his level by celebrating death is being, in a sense, just like him. Because he is no longer a threat, though, does not mean that other threats will not pop up. This was just the beginning. The war that has been going on for almost a decade is just beginning.
