This article is about the Race For The Cure celebration that took place in downtown Indianapolis for donations to the research centers for breast cancer. Forty thousand people participated in what marked the twenty year anniversary of the Race For The Cure Foundation. People from all over Indiana participated in the walk to support a loved one or to just donate to the cause. Although the weather was questionable, forty thousand came to support the cause. Many more might have showed up, too, if the weather fortcast would have been a more pleasant one.
In my opinion, this cause is one of the best advertisements to make breast cancer more known throughout the rest of the country. It affects numberous men and women every day, and because it is always a success, research becomes more availiable in the race for finding the cure for breast cancer. This cause not only encourages those who have, have had, or know someone who has breast cancer to stay strong, but to also influence those around them with their life long stories. Many other causes regarding cancer and other illnesses, can also be influenced by the Race For The Cure Foundation, resulting in a greater awareness for other life threatening diseases.
I agree. I feel that when people realize how many people have been affected they will actually get out and start to find ways to help and donate.
